You finally have time off from your very busy work life and you want to take your doggo to the park, but you don’t know where! Luckily, you live in the sunshine state where there are plenty of beaches and parks in Fort Myers that you can take your pup to too. There are over 20 parks/beaches you can visit; although some are off-leash and some are on-leash parks, you can bet your pup will have the best time, just don’t forget their favorite toys. Barkingham Dog Park
Located at 9800 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers, FL, Barkingham Dog Park offers an off-lead area a primitive trail for on-lead walks. The park includes four baseball fields, three football fields and a playground with swings and rock-climbing structures. The park also features two off-leash, one for the timid and small dogs and one for the larger and playful pups. So, if you’re looking for a family fun day along with your pup, this is the perfect place for everyone to enjoy.
Pooch Park
The actual name of this community park is Judd Park and it is located at 1297 Parkview Court, North Fort Myers, FL. This park includes the following amenities: baseball/softball fields, charcoal grills, paddlecraft landing/launch, picnic shelters, playground, and tennis courts. Pooch Park also offers two different off-leash parks, one for shy and small doggos and one for larger and active pups. This park is also helpful for new residents in the area to network with other dog owners to find out about local vets and such.
Boca Grande Ballfield Park
With the beach right next to this park you can’t go wrong here! Although, you have to have your pup on a leash, you can still enjoy the wonderful views and eats here. Located at 305 Wheeler Rd, Boca Grande FL, Boca Grande Ballfield Park offers baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts and of course on-leash dog walking. Something else that Boca Grande Ballfield Park offers is The Boca Grande Farm and Fish Market every Friday from 9 am- 1pm starting January 6th, 2019. Here you can find local and fresh produce, freshly caught seafood, baked goods and much more!
K-9 Corral
This dog and off-leash friendly park is located in the Estero Park and Recreation Center at 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd, Estero, FL. Just like the parks mentioned above, K-9 Corral offers two different parks for the doggos, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. Since the dog park is located in the Estero Park and Recreation Center, the family can enjoy activities together such as baseball, basketball, and pickleball; of course, dogs must be leashed in designated areas.
