Description
The Railroad Museum of South Florida promotes preserving the past, present, and future of Florida's railroads and their history. The Railroad Museum of South Florida, Inc a Florida Not for Profit Corp operates a Interpertive Center housed in a Railroad Depot in Lakes Regional Park. It's Outdoor exhibits include a cosmetically restored 1905 Atlantic Coastline Railroad 0-6-0 Baldwin Locomotive and Tender and a cosmetically restored 1953 Seaboard Airline Railroad Caboose. In addition to the Interperative Center it operates a 1 1/2 mile minature train ride which takes riders on a 15 minute scenic ride which winds through villages and a 100 ft tunnel and over trestle bridges on its journey between lakes and past water features with views of exotic birds and wildlife. A great destination for a family outing.
